We’re looking for friendly, fun, dedicated people to join our volunteer team. Below are the projects and the volunteer roles available. You can volunteer as often as you like from as much as weekly, to fortnightly or once a month or just stay on our database and volunteer as and when you can.
After School Family Cafe
Wednesdays (Term Time Only) 2.45pm – 3.15pm
Kitchen Support – we offer hot drinks and toasted food for families. Your role would be to support the making of hot drinks and toast, then to support the clear up of tables and washing up.
Play Support – it’s child led play, we have a walk in cupboard for children to select board games, play or sports equipment. Your role would be to encourage them in their play and support the tidy up of the games.
School Holiday Family Cafe
Mondays and Wednesdays 11.00am – 2.30pm (approx. time confirmed before each school holiday).
Kitchen Support – As part of a team, your role would be to support the preparation and cooking of the lunch. You will also be involved in the tidying up and clearing up of the kitchen.
Family Food Support – The children are involved with the creating of their food e.g. build your own pizza, pasta, wraps etc. so your role would be to support the children in making their lunch. You will also be involved in the tidying up and clearing up of the family food area.
Tidy Up Support – helping the kitchen and family food team stay on top of the clearing and washing up.
Family Food Shop
Wednesdays 12.30pm – 2.30pm (fortnightly)
We run a free family food shop fortnightly, it’s run by local parents but we sometimes need extra support in their absence or to run the free clothes stall we have. Your role would be to tidy up the food or clothes, supporting families in selecting the food or clothes, and stock clearance/tidying.
Tuesdays 9am – 11.30pm (fortnightly)
A bunch of local parents meet with their babies/toddlers. They set up and run the group, but would love support in setting up/clearing away the toys, making drinks and if you’re creative, occasionally suggesting a theme or play activity.
Ad Hoc Roles
There’s also a variety of Ad Hoc roles, register your interest on our volunteer application form and we can keep you up to date with volunteering opportunities.
If you have a particular talent that you can offer – either as a one off session or series of sessions – we’d love to hear from you. In the past we’ve had drama & dance teachers, immersive story tellers, dinosaur experts, sports coaches, art teachers. If you’re a local organisation that can offer time or skills as a team.
During the school holidays our partners All Saints Family Cafe run food and activities for low income families living around Fishponds. They are looking for volunteers on Tuesdays and Thursdays 2pm – 6pm.
Amy coordinates both St Luke’s and All Saints School Holiday activities.
If are interested in both St Luke’s and Fishponds – then complete this volunteer application form.
If you are only interested in volunteering at Fishponds then get in touch with Amy 07801 762655 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
